About Me
Classical Training Meets Modern Intensity

About Carlos Rodriguez
I am Carlos Rodriguez, an actor passionate about storytelling and authenticity. My journey began in Reynosa, Mexico, and took root in Dallas, Texas, where I discovered my love for acting despite initially not speaking English. A pivotal moment came when my mother took me to see The Tempest at Dallas Shakespeare. That experience ignited a love for Shakespeare that continues to guide my career.
Years later, performing with the Dallas Shakespeare Company affirmed my place in the artistic world. Mentorship from the late René Moreno, who took a chance on me in Coriolanus, encouraged me to share my voice and ideas, marking a defining moment in my journey as an actor. My training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), my MFA from the University of Arkansas, and my professional experience have shaped my craft, allowing me to bring depth and nuance to every character I portray.
My work spans classical theatre and exciting genres like science fiction, action, and historical dramas. Notable stage roles include Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, Hector in Troilus and Cressida, and Richard III. On-screen, I've appeared in FBI and Law & Order, and in national commercial campaigns.
I strive to find honesty, love, and humor in every role, even amidst the darkest themes. Beyond acting, I bring skills in stage combat, dialects, and musical instruments, allowing me to embrace diverse challenges with authenticity. My goal is to continue evolving as an actor, portraying a wide range of characters, and sharing stories that resonate deeply with audiences.
